Tasty Tuesdays!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes
(aka - CCCDC)

First of all...
Can we all have a moment to oogle the new website!!
It's amazing! Everyone should go to Carolyn's blog and tell her how much you adore her.
(although it couldn't possibly be as much as I do cause I am borderline obsessed...)

Okay, back to cupcakes....

I made these bad boys for my friend Maggie's birthday.
They were rich and delicious and a perfect birthday treat!

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:
For the cupcakes:
3 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature
1½ cups light brown sugar, packed
4 large eggs
2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or bittersweet)
For the filling:
4 tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
6 tbsp. light brown sugar, packed
1 cup plus 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
7 oz. sweetened condensed milk
½ tsp. vanilla extract
¼ cup mini semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350° F

Line your cupcake pans with liners.

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the butter and brown sugar.  Beat together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Mix in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition and scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

Stir together to blend.  Add the dry ingredients to the mixer bowl on low speed, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Blend in the vanilla.  Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cupcake liners.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow to cool in the pan 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

To make the cookie dough filling, combine the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl and cream on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Beat in the flour, sweetened condensed milk and vanilla until incorporated and smooth.

Stir in the chocolate chips.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until the mixture has firmed up a bit, about an hour.

To fill the cupcakes, cut a cone-shaped portion out of the center of each cupcake. (I used a piping tip)
Fill each hole with a chunk of the chilled cookie dough mixture.

Frost the filled cupcakes as desired,
sprinkling with mini chocolate chips or topping with mini chocolate chip cookies for decoration.

when you're done they'll look something like this...

or this...

or maybe even this...

Package them up cute and send them off!

Hope you enjoy the treat!

What do you think of the new look?

Brown Kraft Paper!

I'm back! How was everyone's weekend?
To be honest, mine was terrible and I've never been more grateful for a Monday!
Especially cause that means inspiration day, and I could for sure use a little.

Even though Kraft Paper is quite...well...plain
there are some extraordinary ways to use it!

Here are some of my faves:

adorable little wedding favors.

Um, the cutest cupcake boxes ever? I think so!

This has definitely made the rounds in the blogosphere
but I had to post it.
How stinking cute?

Loving the Kraft envelopes!

This is a cute idea for a baby shower or birthday party!

LOVE this Etsy find.

What a great way to wrap a present!

A genius way to set up your own Gallery Wall.

Do you love Kraft Paper as much as I do?

Well you can't love it as much as you're going to LOVE
what Carolyn is doing to the site!

Ooooh, Can't wait!!!

Corduroy!

I think it all started when I saw this photo:

when I was done drying my eyes from the tears of laughter,
I started thinking about Corduroy and what a fall friendly fabric it is.

Here are some of my faves:

a warm pair of Tom's to keep your footsies toasty.

A delicious apple red photo album

some seriously cute handmade cake toppers

so many corduroy mustaches...

I don't think this skirt is a sin at all.

If only I had a fat, cute basset hound to put in here...

Not sure how I have survived without this

How do you feel about the fabric?

See you soon!
Like literally, it's almost Tuesday...

Bad Blogger...

Happy Monday!
(22 hours into it...)

How was everyone's Halloween?
Are you full of candy yet?
Hard to believe this but I don't think I could eat another piece!

We had a very fun Halloween, might have hit a few speed bumps, but fun indeed.
One of said speed bumps may or may not have been leaving my camera in the car...

So I have limited photos to share.

Also, I made meringue bones like these but I never photographed them...

and I made cake balls that looked like pumpkins, but I only remembered to photograph them with my phone, so brace yourself for the beauty of this photo...

At least I did a recap like I promised?
Hope you remembered a few more things than I did
and had a very Happy Halloween :)
