Saltine Toffee

Say What!?
So, after I made this I felt it would make a better
Christmas treat than a middle of summer one,
BUT
it was such a delish sweet/salty combo that
I would recommend eating it year round.
It's a VERY easy recipe that packs a big punch.
The key is to work quickly!

Let's get started!

First and foremost you'll want to get your oven preheating to 400.

Lay about 40 saltines in rows on a tinfoil lined baking sheet.

Once those are lined up,

put 1/2C of Butter and 1C of brown sugar in a saucepan.

 bring to a boil...

Moving quickly, pour the boiling mixture over the crackers

spread the butter/sugar combo into as even a layer as possible

now that goes into the oven for 5-7minutes.

In the meantime....
Crumble 1-2C of walnuts in a bag.

melt about a bag of chocolate chips...

When the crackers are done, the sugar combo will look brown and bubbly...

pour the chocolate over the sugar mixture & top with nuts.

break into pieces...

and enjoy!

What do you think? Will you try?
Maybe save for the holidays?
